Semester Project, 2024
Software: Maya, Adobe Substance Painter, Procreate, Unity
Assignment: 3D Asset Creation, UI Design, Logo Design
Quick Overview
The game “Still” is the main project of the fourth semester. With a focus on audiovisual storytelling, the aim of the game is to solve various sound puzzles. Each room has a sequence of different actions that have to be recreated in the game using the corresponding objects. The further you progress, the less the sounds match the actual storyline and items.
My task was to model the furniture for the children’s room and half of the bathroom. The objects in the children’s room were textured in Substance Painter.
Children’s Toys
The assets for the children’s toys were designed with a vintage aesthetic in mind. They deliberately were inspired by old toys from the past to capture a nostalgic and almost eerie feeling.
UI Design
Once the assets for the children’s room were created and in place, it was time to design the UI. Inspiration for this was the art nouveau era.
The furniture in the children’s room, like the rest of the house, was inspired by old Victorian designs. It was important to convey the feeling of a lived-in home wich could still exist today, despite its old character.
The game “Still” was part of the 2024 Expanded Play exhibition at the Ars Electronica Expanded Animation Festival 2024 in Linz.
